LAST CHANCE STORY

Last Chance Ditch flows from its source in Montana's Beartooth Mountains east to the Clarks Fork River Valley where it eventually trickles to its end at the Ross Orchard. Longtime brewer Sam Hoffmann and his wife Lindsey worked this orchard with owner John Ross for a decade. After several years of making cider for family and friends, they founded the Last Chance Cider Mill in 2016. The Cider Mill uses quality, fresh apples, yielding a superior final product. They were the first cider maker in Montana to grind and press their own apples instead of using commercial concentrates or juices. Sam chooses cider apple varieties from Montana, Oregon and Michigan. From sweet to dry, Last Chance Ciders celebrate the apple by bringing the orchard to the glass. The Last Chance Cider Mill is located less than 40 miles from the orchard in a renovated 100-year old warehouse at the east end of Montana Avenue in downtown Billings.
